OVERVIEW
This qualification provides the knowledge and skills to be able to safely and effectively plan, delver and evaluate exercise to music sessions and is therefore aimed at individuals who want to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry as a group exercise class instructor. It provides entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2 and is the minimum qualification benchmark that fitness organisations tend to insist on before considering someone for employment.
This qualification is ideal for those beginning their career in fitness with the specific aim of instructing a range of group exercise classes and provides the underpinning knowledge and skills required to effectively plan and teach a number of other group exercise disciples involving coordinated movements in time with music.
The majority of exercise to music instructors work on a freelance basis, delivering exercise to music and perhaps other group exercise classes, across a range of different fitness venues.
